Re-Elect
LaGrange Town Supervisor
Jon J. Wagner

Supervisor Wagner is committed to the continuance of excellent recreation options in LaGrange. During the past four years the Supervisor has spearheaded some significant solutions for recreation.
- Re-developed the relationship between the Recreation Advisory Commission and the town Board. The Board's liaison to the commission reports commission activities and recommendations at each Town Board meeting. The Recreation Commission' s advise and council is used to guide Board decisions on recreation.
- Worked with the Dutchess County Soil and Water Conservation District and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation to construct a protective berm around the ball fields in LaGrange Park. That berm has significantly reduced the damage caused by flood waters from the Jackson Creek.
- Despite the growing pains of two large kids football leagues, ensured that there would be sufficient playing space for both leagues and hundreds of children in LaGrange parks.
- Added an additional football field to Overlook Park.
- Added additional playing fields to Stringham Park, LaGrange's home to soccer.
- Supported the expansion of the LaGrange Challengers sports programs. LaGrange is proud to be the home of such a wonderful special needs sports program.
- Developed land use agreements with Pop Warner Football to facilitate a public/private venture to add a Field House and infrastructure improvements to Overlook Park. Those improvements will take place with little or no tax payer dollars. The community will enjoy an improved park and a venue for Senior and Community based programs.
- Worked with Paul Doherty of Red Wing Sand and Gravel to accept use of a new recreation facility. Through Mr. Doherty's generosity, the LaGrange Lacrosse program and American Youth Football will have new fields to call home. The new recreation facilities will be leased for a dollar per year until such time that continued negotiations allow for transfer of ownership to the Town.
- Worked with town resident Wendy Greenfield in one of the best examples of citizen involvement in LaGrange History. Wendy had a vision for an off leash area in LaGrange to serve the recreation needs of our dog owning taxpayers. Support was gained for the project through petitions and financial donations solicited by Wendy. The "off leash" area will soon be a reality in Overlook Park. A one acre area located on an island is being developed with mostly donated funds. The site was selected by the Supervisor due in part to its unique island setting. Overlook Park is not bordered by residences, so some of the noise concerns raised are also mitigated on that site.
- Hired dynamic qualified Parks staff dedicated excellence in our Parks.
